Interview with Cristina Moreno

A goal accomplished is justified after all the effort and perseverance necessary to achieve it. In a 100% competitive environment, firmness, desire and empowerment are necessary to act by example and lead with passion, and this is the case of Cristina Moreno Garrido-Lestache, our Country Manager Spain, who in this interview Let us know about your goals, hopes and what it means to be part of Ad Maiorem.

Cristina, how do you define yourself?

I am an active woman, athlete, very positive, lover of animals and life. I like hard work and constant effort so that the fruits that are sown grow.

Could you give me a definition of what you mean by success? How should you look for it?

For me, success is achieved with energy and perseverance towards a goal. You have to be clear about the objective you want to achieve and walk safely, without faltering, before any obstacle; on the contrary, these obstacles have to push you to reach your goal. I have found success by working hard, thinking positive and always looking towards the objective set.

If you had to think about the figure that most inspired you, who would it be and why?

Let's see, each person around me inspires me, that is, I take that special side out of everyone with whom I share my day to day; However, my grandfather, my parents and my husband inspire me in my work, because they are a great source of energy. Now, our CEO Francesco Cognata really marks my essence as a worker, from whom I learn day by day, at all times and in every conversation; For me he is a great role model.

How do you see yourself in the next five years?

Butt! … This year I premiere as a mom and I am excited; It is an indescribable state that I am sure, I will enjoy with all my heart. In addition to this, many good things are coming to us in Ad Maiorem, we are going to make the team grow as a result of the trust placed in us by our clients. In short, between diapers and projects, hahaha! … Being more, with more flow, more movement and wanting to continue surprising life.

How do you understand happiness?

To happiness, I explain it in a high percentage of a person's capacity for self-motivation and with the will to carry out everything that is proposed. In my case, the constant work that allows me, day by day, to carry out all the activities that make me feel alive and that lead me to achieve all my goals (even existential ones), hahaha! … I am very happy and I am always grateful for it.

What does Ad Maiorem mean to you? Tell us about the beginning of this adventure.

Ad Maiorem has taught me everything about job competition. I have been part of this family for six years, and from the hand of Francesco, I have learned to fly alone and what the value of leading and having a phenomenal team means. I feel an intrinsic responsibility and motivation for our company, that it goes well and allows us to live a healthy working life and a positive adventure. I feel this company as mine.

How do you see the technology market in Spain?

The technology market in Spain is super fruitful, we are a very competent country that invests heavily in technology and competes with the largest.

What characteristics define the technology professional in Spain?

In Spain, people who are in the field of technology are very prepared, hard-working and have great professional skills. For example, a few years ago, during the “Boom” of the internationalization of Spanish companies to Latin America, the technology consultancy positioned itself as a leader in its sector; This was due to the qualified talent that currently exists in our market. Also during the crisis we are going through in Spain, young people had no problem finding work abroad, precisely because of their over-qualification. These professionals, in addition to being endowed with decision, commitment and creativity, have been trained in high-demand disciplines such as Big data, Virtual Reality or Cybersecurity.

What are the news of Ad Maiorem Spain for this year? Tell us your expectations.

We are going to grow and we continue preparing for it. We are defining the strategy to have a good crew at ESTEC, at the European Special Agency and therefore considering the possibility of opening a new subsidiary. Here in Spain we do not stop for a moment and we have many opportunities open. On the other hand, we are laying the foundations to position ourselves commercially as a consolidated company, with more than a decade of experience in the innovation and development technology consulting sector.

If you had to complete this interview, what question would you ask yourself?

The same. I would really do the same hahaha!
