The Spanish administrator of railway infrastructures (ADIF), has ordered the renovation of the software system of the Centralized Traffic Centre (CTC) of the command posts of El Berrón, in Cantabria.
The project aims to implement a new traffic management technology, bringing modernity, reliability and security to management. The main action is focused on the implementation of a new software system, database migration and creation of functionalities for the control of interlocks.
The new system will manage communications and the status of all interlocking lines, helping to manage and control rail traffic on the network of lines of this network. It will include the development of a simulator programmed with Java technology for the interlocks of the El Berrón lines, connecting to SCADA-type systems (PCU) to emulate the remote systems.
It should be noted that this project has been carried out as part of the renovation, updating and maintenance works of the CTC systems that the Railway Infrastructure Manager (ADIF) started in 2018 and which also includes the Santander and Bilbao CTCs, work which amounts to approximately a global amount of almost 9 million euros.
