From our experience, at Ad Maiorem, we have seen the importance of strengthening our leadership, making it a fundamental piece of our company culture and one of our main levers to achieve success in each of our technological innovation projects. We are aware that teamwork works, and that team performance will be good if that team achieves the results for which it was created and designed.
In this sense, when we embark on a new project, our vision of it is solidified in four variables that we share among the entire team that makes up our company: achievement of objectives, performance of tasks, management of functions and performance of roles. Our transversal objective is to align these variables with each other, as well as internalize them, in order to generate a positive attitude towards the new project and empathy for each of the people who make up our corporate structure.
Making our team a multidisciplinary factor will contribute to the degree of differentiation with which the activities and projects we carry out are perceived. That is, having different personalities, knowledge, abilities and skills for the different tasks, functions and roles that are usually carried out; it is necessary in many cases to have people with different ways of seeing life and focus their work. To get the best out of each person, we must identify the tasks that they do best and be aware that their shortcomings are offset by the strengths of other colleagues.
In this way, our team is enriched and complemented to function properly, always managing to deliver the best results and fulfilling the previously defined objectives in the best way. At this point, from our four variables, five tips are developed that we carry out and control for the success of our purposes:
1. Clear, consensual and real objectives:
Our team knows where we are aiming, and what are the tasks and functions that they must carry out in order to achieve the proposed results. We measure and analyze our group behavior, in order to be sure that the actions we are taking and the decisions we are taking are correct to achieve the success of our projects.
2. Clarity of the roles to functions to be performed:
We ensure that all our collaborators are clear about the objectives we pursue, and we invite each member to assume a specific role within our organization, where we hope that each one contributes value to the project from their specialization.
3. Our processes are well defined:
The clearer our processes, the more we ensure that we will achieve the goals we have set for ourselves. This implies rapidity in learning and low resistance to change. If our team knows the processes, it is a team with a high degree of productivity.
4. Good communication and work environment:
We have managed to define our way of communicating. We spread the practice of a fast and agile communication exchange, which facilitates decision-making and the use of the opportunity factor. We adopt this type of communication, due to the fact that it is an important mechanism both between workers, with management and even externally.
5. Productivity through teamwork:
We promote the individual commitment of each of our people, in order to strengthen the global vision of our activities. The feeling of belonging, of being valued as a key piece of the team and going for the same goal, make our workers more motivated, happier and, therefore, more efficient.
